Partners

Gerard Looby

Home was originally Gunnedah and after graduating from the University of New England in 1978 Gerard joined what was then Coopers & Lybrand in the Business Services Division at the Albury Office, followed by stints in Vanuatu, Wollongong and Scone.

With a desire to live and work in regional Australia Gerard joined Davies, Thompson & Wright in 1990.

Gerard is a Chartered Accountant with 32 years experience in business services for a range of small business industries. He is primarily involved with small business clients with their tax compliance and business management services.

Gerard takes an active interest in the community based functions and has served on a number of committees.

Meditation takes the form of saddling up and taking a long quiet ride with dogs in tow.

Tracey Lawler

Tracey became a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in 1991. With 29 years in accounting, Tracey's experience has ranged from tax and business services to auditing, from primary production to manufacturing and retail industries.

Eight years with Ernst & Young Newcastle was followed by four years with BHP, with two years in the Melbourne Head Office.

A much awaited return to the country in 1999 saw Tracey join the Muswellbrook firm just as GST came in.

She became a partner in 2005 and a registered company auditor in 2006.

Her client base now includes individuals, contractors, professionals, healthcare, clubs, farmers and retirees.

In her spare time a small acreage, cattle, haymaking and fencing provide distraction.
 

Scott Collins

Scott joined Davies, Thompson & Wright in 2003 and became a partner in 2010.

He is a chartered accountant who has a broad level of knowledge and experience in accounting for clients ranging from the retail and service sectors to primary producers, as well as the expanding self-managed superannuation fund sector.

Scott enjoys the challenges that come with providing clients a service that is of the highest standard.

He values providing clients with accurate and timely information for their decision-making purposes and ensuring they are satisfied with their tax outcome.

Scott also enjoys playing golf and touch football when time permits.

Professional Staff

Lisa Bourke

Lisa is a Chartered Accountant and has been with the firm since January 2000.

Apart from her taxation knowledge, Lisa is our "go to" person for all questions about MYOB.

She is focused on ensuring all her clients understand the taxation and business issues that effect them.

Lisa is involved with many communities based organisations and enjoys quilting in her spare time.

 

Crystal Elliott

Crystal has been with Davies, Thompson & Wright since February 2012, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 2015.

Crystal's workload includes quarterly BAS preparation, individual and small business income tax returns and financial statement preparation.

In her spare time Crystal enjoys gardening and cooking.  At the weekend though, taking her dogs for long walks is a must.

 

Jenna Forbes

Jenna has been working with us since May 2013 and is currently partway through completing the Chartered Accountants Program.

Her workload includes small business GST and taxation and auditing work for our larger clients.

 

Sharon Lawrence

Joining the team in June 2016, Sharon is a qualified Certified Practicing Accountant, and holds a joint degree in accounting and legal studies. Having spent the last five years in an accounting practice in Singleton, Sharon is familiar with the business environment and people in the Hunter Valley.

With extensive knowledge of Xero, Sharon rounds out our team of qualified professionals able to assist with all your business needs.

Spending time with family and friends, travelling and enjoying a good book is how she spends her spare time. 

 

Rhonda Walter (retired Easter 2016)

As the office manager, Rhonda controls the day to day administrative functions of the office and of our team as well as undertaking client bookkeeping, GST, payroll and employee entitlement work.

As our longest serving employee (over 30 years), Rhonda has a vast knowledge of our clients and their history.

Rhonda is involved in many community based organisations and is a keen and seasoned traveller.

We wish Rhonda well in her retirement.

Accounting Assistant

Eve Marks joined our firm in 2008 with a background in the banking industry. Her work includes providing regular bookkeeping and GST services as well as attending to our internal records.

Computer Support & Reception

Louise Charlton commenced with the firm in 2012.  Her role includes looking after the production of the final reports and other documents that are our outputs. Louise also maintains our servers, computer network and keeps our system updated for new changes with her background in IT.

Jane Collins is the friendly and knowledgeable face of reception, with over a 11 years' experience in administration and human resources. When she can, she loves to travel with her husband, has a keen interest in running, with one active Beagle in tow and joining running events. Jane also enjoys relaxing with a good book.
