Our History
Davies, Thompson & Wright was started in Muswellbrook over 60 years ago, in 1952 when John Davies opened his practice in the Central Arcade. He was joined in 1965 by John Thompson, forming a chartered accounting partnership. Nine years later, in 1974, Richard Wright became an employee and then several years later a partner, adding the third surname to the firm's trading name.
A move to the current location at 60 Brook Street occurred when the firm, its clients and its staff numbers grew. This was followed by a second story addition to the back of the building resulting in the offices as they continue to operate today.
Whilst the three original partners have since retired, our current partners and staff continue to uphold the Davies, Thompson & Wright tradition of being valued family advisors to our clients.
As well as our Muswellbrook main office, we have maintained a small office in Merriwa for many years. The current office is at 100 Bettington Street and is staffed by an accountant every Friday for local appointments.
We service the Muswellbrook, Merriwa, Denman and Aberdeen areas, but as our clients' families have grown our list of clients has now stretched to many other parts of New South Wales, as well as Queensland and Victoria.
